This inn was built in the 1860s and is rumored to be the home to a few different ghosts. Strange occurrences and noises have been reported, one being in the kitchen, where pots and pans have been lifted off their hooks before crashing onto the floor. Photos on the walls of the inn have also reportedly been knocked off.

Nothing of note, while in the room but, there was talking and laughter going on when we locked our door to this third floor room and went down for breakfast. Worth a room on the third floor. Have two rooms booked for this Halloween!!!!

  • My terrifying ghost experience

Myself and a friend booked the room after a long drive back to Maine. The gentleman at the desk warned me about the room that we were going to stay in. I was too tired to really take notice. Anyway, we went to sleep that night and around 3am I was awoke to a nasty odor and an eerie sound. I turned on the light and saw a pair of my underwear sliding across the floor. I almost jumped to the ceiling! It was a worn pair I put in my carry along hamper early that night. I was in total disbelief. As soon as I spotted it, it stopped moving. After an hour of pure fear, I finally was able to go back to sleep. At about 5am, I was awoken again. This time to the feeling of being caressed. Someone or something was running their fingers into what was left of my hair. A female voice then whispered in my ear "let it happen". I was being sexually assaulted by a ghost that I couldnt see! Oddly enough, I woke up fulfilled. After checking out, I was told I was visited by one of the notorious hotel ghosts named "Cinnamon". A few months later I felt an urgent need to visit the hotel again. This time staying a full week. During that time, I was visited again. Same thing happened but this time different words were whispered into my ear. "You planted to your seed" she said. To make a long story short, I think Im having a ghost baby. Now my mother is pushing me to have a shotgun wedding. "Cinnamon is already talking ghost support and my current wife wants to take the kids and leave. This experience ruined my life. The moral to the story is, if you go the Inn of The Hawke, wear a condom to sleep!
