Camden County College was founded in 1967 as a Catholic seminary. As the legend has it, a monk allegedly hanged himself in Jefferson Hall and now haunts the third floor.

There are different accounts of the haunting, including reports of a shadow moving across the hallways during after hours, flickering lights, and door-slamming sounds. Some students with night classes in the building have claimed to have experienced the feeling of "being followed" during late hours. After hearing these reports, many students and guards avoid the building at all costs.
