Posted 10/12/23Definitely Felt A Presence
This happened many years ago. We stopped into the Henry Ludlum House in Dennisville to check out the Inn for another time. We went in and the Inn keeper was waiting for his guests thinking we were them. We told him we were looking at his Inn for another time. He was very kind and showed us a beautiful room. As we were leaving the room, the door closed on its own. My wife and I noticed it and felt a presence. We did book the room and stayed there a few months later. Upon our stay, we were getting up one morning and my wife gathered her shoes. She looked inside her shoes and found a nicely wrapped dollar bill inside one of them like someone made an effort to put it there. To this day, we can explain how and where it came from. We haven’t been to Dennisville in years but definitely will be stopping in with our next visit to the area.

The Henry Ludlum House is in Dennisville
You step back in time when you tour or stay at this house. For some reason many are listing the house as being in Woodbine when in fact it is in Dennisville.

unexplained things
We rented this house thru Airbnb and did not know what to expect. I read plenty of stories online after we booked the house and was gonna cancelled our reservations. boy am I glad I didn't my family had a great time fishing and kayaking and spending lots of family time together laughing way to much. what an amazing house with lots of history. on the last night of our stay my daughter came down in the morning and said a little girl visited her room a few times thru out the night to make sure she was ok. no one was in the house besides us now that's all my daughter talks about is her little angle looking after her. we already booked it for our family vacation again next year. I would love to see something that I couldn't explain so I can brag too

My ancestor gently brushed my hair, and pushed the swing.
My aunt (a genealogist) and I drove from many states away through a dark, rainy night to arrive in Cape May, NJ, where our Townsend ancestors had settled. Not knowing another ancestor was Henry Ludlam, I selected this B&B. My aunt was thunderstruck by the coincidence. We came upon the Inn with candles glowing in the window...a family welcoming tradition! My aunt spent many hours talking history with the innkeeper, going through an old trunk. I went upstairs to shower, with only a ceiling fan to brush dry my long, brown hair. As I gazed out the window overlooking a serene lake, imagining my ancestors, a curious, gentle female presence seemed to take the brush and brush my hair til dry. I told my aunt downstairs, who sat holding an old hair brush and a lock of our ancestor's carefully wrapped long, brown hair! The next day, we walked out to sit in the gazebo and the wooden porch swing, hung from an old tree near the lake. I felt the ancestral presence again, gently pushing the swing, and happy we had come so far to visit. We hated to leave. Wonderful memory!

Sounds and things moving
My freinds bought this house .when I sleep over I could feel something in my bedroom and would sound like someone walking on the wood floors but when I would turn on my light nothing was in the room..im thinking it was my mind playing tricks on me since I read lots of ghosts stuff about this house.but in the morning I sat on the deck drinking coffee watching the sunrise over the pond with tons of ducks in the pond..what an awesome experience to sleep in one of the most historical places in dennisville and Cape may area
