Reviews
The mother of Zephenia Drake, who built the public house in 1810 was also a devout Methodist who adamantly opposed her son building a saloon in a hotel. She was the wife of the Methodist minister in Mendem and died after lightning came through a sanctuary window during a Sunday service and killed her. She as haunted the public house ever since.
