Surf City Hotel
Surf City, NJ 8008
Spirits have been seen at this late 1800s hotel, along with the sound of unexplained voices. Some believe that the hauntings come from a shipwreck of the Powhattan in 1854, which killed around 300 people. Bodies from the wreck were kept in the building for a while, and it is believed that the then-owner Edward Jennings robbed their bodies. The spirits of a mother and child have been seen here.

footsteps in the hall and room around 3:30am, doors moving, whispers and murmurs at my bedside.
