The attention to details and unexpected scares are amazing! From the moment you enter the parking lot this haunt is immersion. It had my whole family screaming! Plus, the additional activities in the tent and the food trucks make it a perfect way to spend an October night. I look forward to going every year!!

My family loved this! The time travel theme was so authentically executed and the costumes, makeup, room designs and actors performances were all top notch. The spooky elevator ride was a highlight, loved that! I went first in our group since I enjoy the jump scare factor and I wasn’t disappointed. So creative, and super creepy. Affordable, no lines, everything was well done. We will definitely be back next year.

I found out about Haunted Theater by some of its staff back in 2014. October is always such a busy month and I just never found the time to go. 10 years later, I MADE the time and I’m glad I did! I can’t believe it took me this long!
The house is really well done. The makeup and special effects are top notch. The actors are great and the staff is friendly. The price won’t break the bank. No waiting in long lines either! They are so organized with timed entry and then giving each group a ticket and seats in the theater. Definitely don’t sleep on this one!

This was the best haunted house experience I have ever been to. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I went with my three kids - ages 6 and 9 - and they loved it. Highly highly recommend - you will not be disappointed.

I'm not the type to do scary walkthroughs but this was a really fun and creative scare trail. The set designs and the unique props used to scare the "victims" who walked through were so impressive I had to remind myself that this was happening on a college campus! There are some good scares especially when you first arrive (even outdoors is fair game!) but there's also some funny parts on the trail that make the whole experience more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I came with my family for the first time. I was extremely impressed by the work of these students. Parking was easy and plentiful as this is at a community college. I visited the tents before going inside. They had three games and some merch along with snacks. A lot of knick knacks. I was hoping for shot glasses, as I collect those for every place I visit. The apple cider I got was delicious. My wife got popcorn and loved that too. There were clowns outside but we didn't bother interacting with them. My son isn't a huge fan and neither is my daughter so we just avoided them.

We absolutely loved the wild girl out front. My kids were terrified of her, but she turned out to be charming. At first there were immediate tears and we assumed that they would not want to walk through and we'd be out 40 bucks, but dog cone girl came right over and started talking to my kids and even gave my youngest a party hat. The tears turned to smiles and giggles. I'm impressed with how good she was with them. My youngest was a bit too scared to go through and not only did she help comfort her, but she boosted her confidence enough to get her in the haunted house. I did not expect that from a haunted house, as I was waiting for her to try to scare our kids more. She was creepy in her own right, but genuinely cared. We'd come back for her alone. My daughter talked about her the whole ride home. You can see the care she had for every customer and made each person feel special. My wife and I joked with her and she never missed a beat.

Inside is the waiting area and there is trivia. there are seats so you're not standing. The trivia was cool. Our wait wasn't long. We got called to go about 10 minutes after our timed ticket, which is impressive compared to other haunted house wait times.

Our tour was excellent. The experience lasted about a little less than 20 minutes which we didn't mind as we're close to home and could enjoy our night. We go to a lot of haunted trails in the woods that aren't really full of actors so this was a nice change of pace. There were a lot of actors in each space. The first guy we came across in the skeleton wall area got me good.

I was very impressed by the attention to detail on the sets. Visually, the graveyard we went into was my favorite. They had a moving lady and a stained glass effect. There were some good pop outs in there. I was expecting plastic walls, not full sets. This was equal to a professional haunt and not something that is put up and taken down yearly in an actively used space. The tech was advanced for what I expected to see from community college students. Each room had a different theme. Our group was small, just my family and another couple which made it better for scares.

My wife and I will be returning next year. We're hoping to make this a tradition for the kids now that they're old enough to enjoy haunted houses.

If you're considering it, I recommend it. Support these college kids. They've turned classroom spaces into the equivalent of a real haunted house. It's better than most local hayrides and haunts and they don't charge you the 40 big ones that other haunts do.

This was my first time going through a haunted theater or haunted anything for that matter, and it was definitely terrifying. The artistic design of the set was incredible and terrifying and very well done. There were some really crazy optical illusions and special effects with the artwork and the make up done on the actors was very realistic. They were plenty of jump scare opportunities, and I definitely jumped quite a bit.

I didn't know what to expect but this exceeded my expectations. First of all it's incredibly organized and the staff is incredibly helpful and you can tell they work hard. From the beginning and the way that they queue you into the theater, with some trivia to keep you occupied while you wait for your group. And it really wasn't a long wait at all.

The scare actors were phenomenal. I was caught off guard MANY times. But that's the whole point right? So well done. The sets were so detailed and you can tell a ton of work went into this. It wasn't something that was just thrown together in a few weeks.

DEFINITELY GOING BACK NEXT YEAR!! My daughter and I had a blast.

Went last night and had a blast. They spaced out our group so we weren’t herded in like sardines. The actors were top notch. I had maybe 12 genuine scares that made me jump. One of the best and creative haunted scares in the area.

We've been going for years. This year my kids wanted to bring a bunch of their friends so we had a bigger party than usual. They did a great job accommodating all of us and making sure everyone had a good time. Really enjoyed the tents, especially in the rain. The kids loved the games and the ice cream truck that was there.

As far as the haunt goes. They did a fantastic job with it. One of our kids was too afraid to make it through, but the rest screamed the whole time. Lots of scares and extremely impressive for college students.

Top highlights were the girl reading the rules. We love that she's still here after all these years. Despite looking horrific, she's so great with the kids and had us laughing our butts off before we were even in the door. The kids adore her. If that's the same girl every year, were impressed. I think she's been here as long as we've been going.

We also loved thee corn room with the cloud sky. What a neat effect. The chainsaws were also a nice touch. The kids hated it. We loved it.

It's worth checking out. The production value at this community College is higher than many haunts my family visits each year. And it's never the same. Highly recommend

My family and I have been coming for years as a new family tradition. When we first started it was good, during Covid it went dead. Last year was good but this year!! The art work, carpentry, and so many great actors, we all had so much fun, got scared and laughed at the end. It was awesome and can’t wait to see what they come up with next year. I love how every year the scenes change and get scarier! The added carnival in the front this year was great for our family to try their luck . Hot chocolate was so good on a cold night . The makeup on the outside clowns and stilt walker was amazing ... and the sliders WOW , how did he get in that position and hold it for so long! Will be back next year for sure!

This was year 4 of our tradition of going to the Haunted Theater. It is the best haunted house around! This year’s was amazing and so creepy. The actors that interact with you outside before you even go into the queue line (there is timed entry, so there is a very minimal wait) were hilarious and a great way to get you into the mood. Addy (the woman with the cone) even recognized us from previous years!This was the best year yet! We can’t wait until next year.

You can tell that Brookdale Community College students take this seriously! My family and I love playing the games at the carnival while we waited until it was almost our time to come in. As we were walking through the set design and props were so realistic and the scare actors gave it their all. The scariest rooms that we love were the nun room, the bunker room, and the mad scientist room! This is a new tradition for our family and we cant wait to come back next year!!

The house was pretty big and intricate design/setting. The costumes were excellent and the performers were scary. People on stilts were really cool and the Nuns and Witches were my favorite characters! Only thing I would suggest is that they add Pennywise as a character. Would be a nice addition!

This year was our first time visiting the Haunted Theatre, but it won't be our last. You can tell that Brookdale Community College students take this seriously and spend months preparing for this event! The logistics were extremely well organized; they thought of every detail (down to Halloween trivia while you wait for your haunt). We were so impressed by the rooms. I won't spoil them, but I will say that they go above and beyond Halloween tropes to scare you! I found myself thinking about the themes long after our visit. And none of the actors broke character, despite my many screams and nervous laughter. So creative, so spooky, so fun!

The haunts were frightening and the decor was fantastically gruesome.

As we walked up we saw people chickening out before they even entered the building. The actors in the first room are terrifying and the decorating is outstanding. After we got out of the haunted house we went to the tent and played some games and had some snacks and even ended up winning some prizes. So much to see if you can keep your eyes open. What a cool experience! These students really outdid themselves! This was our first time here. We have never heard of this one but we saw it on facebook. We were looking for things to do with the kids and we are so happy we went here instead of bell works. After reading reviews it seemed like that would have been too much on the younger side. The kids loved it. The cone girl was so funny! She was really great with the kids. They talked about her the whole way home. We had a lot of fun and definitely will be back next year. We loved the room with the lake and the chainsaws of course!

The right amount of scary venues. From the Mad Doctor to the screaming patients, the Stiltman to the Clowns everyone was giving it their all!

Brookdale Haunted Theater did a great job. The sets were great quality and the scare factor was there. I've done a lot of haunts and was looking for one I didn't go to and I thought "how good could it be at a college". It was one of the better ones I've gone to. Definitely worth checking out.

Me and my wife 1st went about 5 years ago to check it out when my wife’s friend worked there but now have made it an Annual Tradition!! My sister & I have seen it all! She is almost 50 and I’m 37 so we have seen our share of haunted attractions but Brookdale Haunted Theater tops them all! The reason is the intimate experience they provide! You are brought into their theater to sit & wait your turn (sure I wished they put on a classic Halloween movie while we waited but the creepy short clips they played was just fine). Each row would be called & you walk in to several different themed rooms & the decorations (artwork) was brilliantly done! Then the actors were superb! They even had a contortionist! Everyone involved should get a pat on the back because I was definitely scared a few times! Especially one time where I flew back and grabbed the gentleman behind me & hugged him! It was an epic experience!

Bookdale’s Haunted Theater never disappoints! This was our 4th year in a row going and it’s always a good time. The students do an amazing job creating this walk through haunted house where each section has its own theme and it’s own set of frights!! I promise you there’s plenty of scares during the 15min walk through. They keep the groups small so you can enjoy all the scary surprises. This is a can’t miss during the Halloween season!! We recommend this because the people that do this are so dedicated. I enjoyed it because it all takes place inside and you can go there on a rain day and the pricing is great because you are getting your money's worth. Loved the outside scares prior to going in to the building. The maze is awesome, special effects were great, especially the shark room and the 3d room. Loved the different themed areas as you walked through the maze. Only criticism is in the movies shown while waiting in the theater as I thought some of them were too gory, maybe push harder that it's an R-rated, adult only event, or just show less gory movies as I think kids could do the maze itself if they can tolerate the jump scares. The goriness in the maze is just not as realistic as a movie. All-in-all great event, thanks!

Why did I wait so long to attend this event? By far, the best haunt/scare for the money! Only $15 per person and all inside! Weather is not an issue! The performers were top-notch, great scenes, atmosphere! Much better than the "garden center" haunts that cost a lot more! I recommend trying this one, I look forward to next year!

Well worth the money! There is a cool area that is a graveyard. The second I heard crying I nearly back tracked to the previous room lol! My husband fell down in the room before hand. Students work hard on this attraction and blow me away every year, amazing set up! Every year The rooms become more intense and I am always amazed.

I have been to this house before so this makes it two.
The actors and crew are very professional. It's indoors so weather should not get in the way. You wait in a theater to watch short horror films until you are called. It changes the layout every year so this year was different. It was a lot of fun though I was hoping for more. It ended a little uninterestingly as last year it ends with you getting chased by a chainsaw man.
Would recommend though. They got me good a couple times.

My wife and I have visited the Haunted Theater at Brookdale Community College every year for at least the last seven years or so. What's nice is that every year it's different, but still impressive from the viewpoint of both scares and technical accomplishments. These kids do a great job and deserve a lot of credit. This year, there's a point as you walk through the theater where one of the young performers does something very similar to a particular scene from The Exorcist (no, it does not involve vomiting) that was the most unsettling thing I've seen yet in the Haunted Theater. I don't want to give it away, but it looked painful and made me wince when I saw it.

If strobe lights bother you, you may want to avoid it, and there's usually a brief segment where they provide you with 3D glasses to enjoy some of the frights. Very professionally done. It takes between 10 and 15 minutes to go through, and while you're waiting, you get to watch a series of horror trailers and shorts, which is a big part of the fun. Highly recommended.

Saw this advertised on facebook. So glad I did. I was impressed with what they were able to do with the theater. It was different than I expected. Loved the theme. A friend of mine has a young daughter who was too scared to go in and they had to wait while we were going into the haunted house. She said that her daughter couldn't stop talking about how much fun she had and she didn't even go inside. The actor who was in the waiting area kept her entertained and kept giving her some attention so she could have fun too and that was incredibly sweet. I definitely will be coming again! The photo area was also really cool. The clowns were not. Thanks for making me scream louder than my children.

This haunt starts with a long, but comfortable, wait in the theater, with a few actors and some short films to keep you entertained before entering. The wait pays off by going through in very small groups...not the usual rush of people pushing you through...you get to really enjoy the unique rooms and custom scenes (the Jersey Shore shark attacks of 1916, alien abduction, and an insane asylum are just a few of the rooms)! A small amount of actors is made up for by their enthusiasm, contortionists, some fun 3D and holograms. Much better than the average haunt with generic Halloween store masks and burly men screaming in you face. Clearly lots of love go into this event!

This haunt is a great quality and a great price. While other places overcharge for little to no thrills this place place had my girlfriend screaming the whole time and not my wallet. Best haunt in the area by far!!!!!!

If there's one major glaring flaw with this haunt (something I've noticed with a LOT of haunted attractions) is that there is almost zero atmosphere. When you have loud, thumping techno and/or rock music, and people scream at you every ten seconds, it's frankly impossible to build any sort of tension or dread. I was not scared walking through the Haunted theater maze. I was startled, and that's fun in its own right, but I think in order to really be SCARY, these attractions need to learn to adopt a less is more approach.

If you cut down on the number of jumpscares and make it QUIET (either totally silent or play more fitting, ambient/atmospheric music), the experience of walking through will be scary not only for those who are already scared to BE THERE, but for everyone, and the jumpscares will be more effective too for their restraint. Another thing I experienced was that a lot of the characters were very angry/shouty, which to my taste anyway is not something I find all that scary, or at least creepy. I just find it hard to take these characters seriously when they're either growling at you or staring and giggling. When in doubt, make it weird. Just some more unusual behaviors I think would make for some more intimidating specters. Someone yelling and posturing at me just feels like some drunk, rowdy guy at a bar. Maybe scary on some level, but not really Halloween scary.

Or even, consider this: in horror movies, the monster you DON'T see is often scarier than the one you do, so maybe an ideal haunt would have creatures that avoided being seen, OR, in keeping with my previous comments, just have much fewer actors. Imagine a haunt with ONE singular monster that stalked you throughout the experience, giving only just the slightest, noticeable hints that it was there but staying just out of view...now that sounds terrifying. The thing is that for the people who are afraid of being scared and go to these places anyway, you could do pretty much anything and they'll be scared--but for those who WANT to be scared, stuff like this doesn't really cut it, at least in my experience.

For all of that said however, while I wasn't scared I still had a lot of fun, thanks to the hard working, really creative team behind the haunted theater. In addition to the more generic rooms in the maze there were some really creative, abstract ones that were quite memorable (like a trippy zebra patterned one or one filled with comic book pop art), and the actors were all professional and you could tell they got really into their roles. Furthermore everyone working there was really nice, and the people I talked to that helped me set up a way to go through with my walker were fantastic and I'm really grateful to them for doing so. If you're disabled and you think you won't be able to attend this event, give the box office a call--they'll treat you well. =)

I went with a group of friends and it was so awesome! one of my friends was too scared to go in and she said that they were really great to her while she waited to go in. She said they kept her entertained and included while she was in the lobby waiting for us. not a lot of haunted houses will do that. The girl out front with the cone was really funny! My other friends and I loved it! 2 of my friends cried! The chainsaws were the best part! I also really liked the person in the chair! that got me! One of the best haunts in NJ. If you have not been, you should definitely check it out.

the attraction goes on and on and never seems to end, it sometimes leads to empty rooms which you think are dead ends, but they are not you have to find the door out. it was worth every penny, the 3 D part was especially scary and right in front of your face

I've gone to Haunted Theater 3 years in a row and every year they keep outdoing themselves!! The sets and costumes keep evolving and growing each year, so you really have to get your tickets to see for yourself!! I can't imagine what they're going to do next year, but I can guarantee it will be EPIC!! This is by far, the BEST Haunted House I've ever been too and I will continue to go to every year!!

I was so impressed with the amount of work & time that must have gone into creating this amazing haunted theater experience. Each area had a different theme and each one was so uniquely creative with so many realistic details to make it super scary. The actors were amazing & the entire experience from beginning to the end could not have been better. I had just been through all 6 mazes at at Six Flags & I think Brookdale’s mazes were so much better. I will definitely go back again next year and recommend it to friends. Kudos to the entire creative theater arts team at Brookdale. Awesome job! ????

I’ve been coming to Haunted Theater for about three years and I always have a good time. Each year it the theme gets more interesting and scary. I loved the theme this year and everyone needs to go.

We go every year, it was the scariest year ever! Some Really original scares and some great classics! Highly recommed!
