The Haunted Manor stands out for its community-driven charm, family-friendly atmosphere, and immersive storytelling set across both the Manor Display and its eerie Out Buildings walkthrough.

How long has Schuchardt's Holiday House Presents: The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough: The Out Buildings been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Schuchardt's Holiday House Presents: The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough: The Out Buildings's history?

This is only the second year for the full walkthrough experience, but the yard display tradition has deep roots. We've been transforming this house since 2019, and before that, we were in East Brunswick with displays all the way back to the early 2000s. This whole effort began as a dual mission: to bring a fun activity to the community while simultaneously raising money for charity.

What's your favorite experience since opening Schuchardt's Holiday House Presents: The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough: The Out Buildings?

The absolute best moment is at the exit, when I see people smiling and having had a great time. Of course, hearing a good, loud scream halfway through is always a fun bonus!

How long is a typical haunt experience at Schuchardt's Holiday House Presents: The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough: The Out Buildings from start to finish?

The typical walkthrough experience at Schuchardt's Haunted Manor & Out Buildings lasts about 10 to 25 minutes, depending on crowd flow and how deeply guests engage with each scene. You are welcome to take as much time as you want in the walkthrough, and you can also take photos and videos.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Schuchardt's Holiday House Presents: The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough: The Out Buildings is? Why?

Around a 5. We find that most children enjoy it, but since we know every child reacts differently, we keep the stakes low. Yes, there are a few jump scares (even for the grown-ups!), and some simulated blood, but nothing over the top. The beauty is, you can always test the waters! Guests are welcome to turn around and exit if needed, and you are always encouraged to give it another shot!

Does Schuchardt's Holiday House Presents: The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough: The Out Buildings's property have any real haunted history? Do you have a spooky encounter you'd like to share?

Yes.

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

The inspiration comes directly from our volunteer work at House of Horrors, the haunted house and hayride run by Middlesex County 4-H in East Brunswick. In fact, our team helped take that attraction to the Number One Haunted Attraction in New Jersey title in 2016, as named by Newjerseyhauntedhouses.com

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Schuchardt's Holiday House Presents: The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough: The Out Buildings?

We are using technology, old and new, to power The Haunted Manor & Walkthrough 2025
Some of the tech includes Cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs, digital video players, FM transmitters, radios, amplifiers, fog machines, CRT and flat screen TVs, projectors, animatronics, motion sensors, IR cameras, and more!

As many as you want, parking is going to be the issue. Please be aware that parking is extremely limited! We kindly ask all our visitors to please respect our neighbors' property and follow all traffic laws when looking for a spot! Carpooling is also a great option! Park on the lawn at your own risk.
